| It was a good
sized group of enthusiastic dancers last night who converged on the Old
Town Players Theatre to do Contra dances to the live music of the Bales of
Hay Band from Mt. Carmel IL. Many were novices and they came from some
distances including Corydon, Bedford, Terre Haute, Sumner IL, and other
towns to sample Vincennes' hospitality. The pictures attached include some
of the dance activities as well as one of the Band. Contra dancing is
organized group dancing and is led by a caller, in this case Ron Ackman. |
